I will introduce the popular hiking course of Musashiitukaichi in Tokyo which can be reached from Shinjuku in 1 hour and a half.
The wonderful thing about this course is that most are gentle downhill.
If you climb up the steep slope to the mountain peak of Mt.Hinode, the remaining trails are the awsome downhill.
Moreover, the best hot springs are waiting at the end of the trail.
With about 3 hours and a harf on running, The majority of the course is gradual descent and can be said to beginners course.
In addition to a wonderful trail, you can taste traditional Japanese cuisine called “konnyaku” at “konnyaku shop Issui” !
