Starting point of the Imperial Palace running

“Sakuradamon” “bamboo bridge” “Hanzomon” is popular as a starting point.

· Sakurada-mon-gate

There is a third exit of Sakuradamon Subway Station on the Yurakucho Line outside the gate. Inside the gate there is a clock tower and a toilet. there are people who run immediately after leaving the subway, and people who prepare at the square in front of the clock tower, and so on.

· Takebashi

Tozai line Takebashi Station Exit 2 Square in front of Wakeno-kiyomaro-statue and a square in front of the toilet at 1a exit. Both are in the course.

Manners of running

Inari-yu running

· run on the left side

Let’s try to run on the left side of the sidewalk. If you open the road on the right for a runner faster than yourself it will be a prevention of contact accidents.

· Traveling in one row

when you run with two people in a place where the running course is narrow, let’s try to run in a line.

· Counterclockwise, let’s refrain from reverse running

Just like on track track competitions, counterclockwise is the mainstream in the Imperial Palace

Running station

When going to the Imperial Palace Running on jogging wear It is courage to take a train with short pants. You also have resistance to get on the train with you sweating after you finish running. For such a case, there is a convenient presence that allows you to change clothes, showers and baggage, is called “running station”.

In addition, there is a sports gym around the Imperial Palace, a public bath facility around the Imperial Palace, but there are also veteran runners substituting for toilets at the stations and coin lockers.

Details will be explained in another section.

Basic manners of the Imperial Ranner

The area around the Imperial Palace is a very popular running area, so some people may be densely populated depending on the location.
For that reason, in 2010 “the liaison support facilities liaison meeting around the Imperial Palace” announced 10 basic manners to safely run the Imperial Palace.
I translated it into English below, so please refer to the runners who run the Imperial Palace.

To the runners who love the Imperial Palace.
To the loved runners.

Basic manners of the Imperial Ranner

The declaration of the Imperial Runner Manor 10

The area around the Imperial Palace is an oasis in the center of the city, one of Japan’s best sights.
That is why it is desirable to have an environment where all visitors can use it safely, securely and comfortably.

We “the liaison support facilities etc. liaison meeting around the Imperial Palace”
Users around the Imperial Palace (runners, pedestrians, bicyclists, etc.)
In order to be able to enjoy the Imperial Palace around each other while having a thoughtful heart,
We propose “declaration of the Imperial Runner Manner 10”, and we will execute it preferentially.

Part 1.  Let us run on the left side

As a rule the Imperial Palace Runner will endeavor to run on the left side of the sidewalk.
Of course, I will run with sufficient care so that there is no contact with other users on the spot.

Part 2. Let’s avoid overtake the narrow spots in a row.

In front of the main gate, Chidorigafuchi intersection and where the sidewalks such as Kaidawabashi crossroads are getting narrower, let’s run in a line and stop overtaking and save speed and run.

Part3. Let’s run Counter-clockwise as much as possible

Like the Olympic track track, Counter – clockwise is the mainstream of the Imperial Palace.
Let’s try not to make Clockwise especially during congestion.

Part 4. When crowded do not stick to your time, always try to have a margin.

Let’s run with a margin so that once you feel danger, if you feel dangerous, do not stick to the time during a crowded time
Try to avoid accidents such as contact and collision.
(from 6 pm to 9 pm on weekdays, at the running event on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) .

Part.5 Let’s give a greeting when overtaking.

When you overtake someone say “I’m going from the right”, if you overtake, say “Thank you.”

Part 6. When you run in a group do not spread and let’s not be a large group.

Running spreading horizontally in groups and groups will cause inconvenience for other users.
Let ‘s try not to spread, and try to separate as many small groups as possible.

Part 7. During cooldown, let’s not prevent sidewalks by group standing or walking

After you have finished running, talking in groups or walking will cause annoyance to other users.
Try not to disturb the flow lines of other users.

Part 8. Let’s refrain from the volume of the music player

In the case of using music players, in order to avoid accidents such as contact with other users,
Minimize the volume of your music player so that you can hear ambient sounds and ensure safety.

Part 9. Let your garbage take home yourself

Be sure to take home the garbage that comes out with plastic bottles and snacks.
Let’s keep the environment around the Imperial Palace as the oasis in the center of Tokyo.

Part 10. Let’s run with compassionate heart at all times

The Imperial Palace is the former Edo Castle, a tourist spot symbolizing Japan.
Let each other have a thoughtful heart so that visitors from all over the world can enjoy it comfortably.

About sightseeing running tour “BARCELONA NIGHT” in Spain

About “Running Tours Barcelona”

barcelona night tour

When I went out to Barcelona in Spain the other day, I will report on participating in a running tour “Barcelona Night” sponsored by a sightseeing guide company named “Running Tour Barcelona”.

Outline of “Barcelona Night” tour

MUHBA Temple d'August
MUHBA Temple d’August:La Catedral de la Santa Creu i Roman ruins behind the alley of Santa Eulàlia

This is a unique service that can receive tour guide while running.
This sightseeing tour is a perfect private guide by Robin of Ultra Runner living in Barcelona.
Because it is a one-to-one tour, the price is 90 euro and somewhat expensive. However, he will give you lectures on Barcelona’s history and culture thoroughly.
You can feel the amount of information that can not be experienced with a normal guide to run through with the sense of speed unique to running.
All the courses can be left to Mr. Robin, and if you tell him your request in advance via email, I think he will be able to answer your request as well.

Pavellons Güell
Pavellons Güell is a work of Gaudí

Although it starts at 19:00 PM, the sunset at Barcelona is still at 20 o’clock so it’s still bright, the end time of the tour is around 20:30.
Initially we met at Plaça de Catalunya, visited the Gothic Quarter and he took me to a place not listed in various guide books.
For example, Roman ruins suddenly appearing in the back streets of La Catedral and hospitals where Gaudi was first carried in a tram accident.
Anella Olímpica passing through La Barceloneta, passing through Museu Marítim de Barcelona, climbing the hill of Montjuïc and overlooking the beautiful night view of Barcelona will be the highlight of the day.
During this running tour, Robin will guide you in English in detail about the history, architecture, art works and customs of Barcelona without a break of time.

Robin ‘s guide tells us not only the knowledge on the history book but also his interpretation and trivia.
An example of what I thought was interesting was the camera installed at Placa George Orwell.
This square is currently being monitored for 24 hours by the camera set up by the Barcelona municipal police officer, and as a result it is becoming an ironic installation reminiscent of “surveillance by Big Brother” of his masterpiece “1984”.
In this way his guide will not get bored with a wide range of knowledge beyond Barcelona sightseeing.
