Jukkenbashi Bridge 十間橋

About Jukkenbashi Bridge

Jukkenbashi Bridge is the name of the bridge in Sumida Ward, Tokyo.
In Kanji, I write “十間橋”, It is about 5 minutes on foot from Tokyo Metro Oshima station.
You can see the Tokyo sky tree from the bridge.
In the night, it reflects upside down the Tokyo sky tree to the surface of the river.
If you take a picture of Tokyo Sky Tree, you can say that this bridge is the most instagrammable.

Dam Discharge at Lake Miyagase in Kanagawa Prefecture

I saw a dam release at Miyagase Lake

I have been visiting a limited time dam release in Miyagase Lake in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The spectacle of 30 m 3 of water falling per second was very powerful.
Dam release is open to the public and it is possible for anyone to see it for a limited time.
However, although it is understood this time, it is difficult to understand access by bus, so it is necessary to be careful.
Since it is only 6 minutes to discharge the dam, you can not see it by mistaking the bus time.

Dam release date

January – March, December pause
April – November every Wednesday, 2nd Sunday of the month, 2nd 4th Friday of the month
Other irregular days (event release)

Implementation time

11: 00 ~ 11: 06 (6 minutes)
2: 00 ~ 2: 06 (6 minutes)

How to get to Miyagase Dam

Get off at Odakyu Hon – Atsugi station and go to the bus stop in the north entrance.
There are several bus stops but let’s look for the signs for the photos below.

Let 's look for Kanji' 半原・上萩野 '.
Let ‘s look for Kanji’ 半原・上萩野 ‘.

Let’s look for kanji written as “半原” in the picture above.
Get on the bus at “Aikawa-Ohashi” by Kanagawa Chuo Kotsu bus “Take to center via Hanbara 半原”.
It is about 15 minutes on foot to the dam.
There is no sign of “Miyagase” anywhere on the bus signs or on the bus, it is very unfriendly and unkind, so let’s ask in Japanese to the driver as below before you get on the bus.
“Aikawa-Ohashi ni ikimasuka?”
The meaning of this Japanese is “Is this bus going to Aikawa-Oohashi?”

The way from the bus stop to the dam

The way from the bus stop to the dam
When I get off the bus at Aikawa-Ohashi bus stop, I will head to the dam via Aikawa Park.
The road was also a bit confusing, so I will place Google Map below.
It is necessary to go through the facilities of the park once.

Dam curry is recommended after the tour

You can go up the dam with an elevator or a charged lift when the dam’s visit is over.
Dam curry can be eaten at the lake side cafe on the first floor of the “Water and Energy Hall 水とエネルギー館” above the dam.
This is a curry which imaged the discharge of the dam, and it is structured so that curry flows in if you pull out the sausage set on the rice.
It is very unique and fun.
You can also enjoy the Miyagase Lake tour with a pleasure boat after the meal ends, this lake is famous for its beautiful autumnal leaves.

“Tokyo Sky Tree” is a famous sightseeing spot that everyone knows, but walking from JR Kameido station makes it a more interesting experience.

Kameido Gyoza

Kameido Gyoza
Kameido Gyoza
Gyoza is the name of Japanese potstickers in Japan, “Kameido Gyoza” has no menu other than dumplings food aside from drinks. The skin is ultra-thin and baked to crispy level, the cabbage seems to be sliced to a large size, the texture which is crunchy is exquisite.

Edo Kiriko is an image of blue or red, but here is a black Edo Kiriko shining in the “monotone”. It seems to match also the monotone interior.
From young people to skilled workers, you can see the artistic handicrafts of various Edo Kiriko craftworkers who are affiliated to the union.
If you visit here, I definitely recommend you look at Edo Kiriko from directly above, you should see another world like a kaleidoscope.

Tell us that this temple opened up in the Tenpyo 5th year of the Nara period (733 years). In the Heian era in 859, it converts to Tendai sect.
This temple suffered a fire in 1646 and 1865 in the Edo period and lost most of the hall.

The ingredient of this hot spring is sodium, the same concentration as the salt concentration of the human body.

Therefore, the burden when entering a hot spring is very few, it is a gentle hot spring.

The black hot water contains plenty of organic substances called “humic acid” in which plants such as kelp and ferns are matured, which are contained in the 1500 m underground layer.

Normal hot springs begin to degrade as soon as they enter the air.
This hot spring is suppressed from deterioration by the power of “humic acid”, and it has become plentiful mineral.
This “humic acid” also has the power to decompose toxins.
