The Aokigahara Jukai is a vast primitive forest spreading over Lake Motosu, Lake Saiko, Lake Shoujin, which is the foot of Mount Fuji.

On this day I started from the side of Lake Motosu, passed by Lake Shoujin, stopped by ice hole and the highlight looked at Lake Saiko from Kouyoudai.
I could completely relax at the goal’s hot spring, because in this hot spring I can soaking in a natural hot water while looking at the magnificent view of Mt.Fuji.

A landscape with 300 years old trees such as fir and beech growing on the lava flows is beautiful and you can enjoy a mysterious sight as if you landed on another planet that is not the earth.

If you believe that you get lost if you go to Jukai it is a mistake.
The hiking road is well maintained and easy to understand and it is not easy to get lost as it is installed along the national highway.
People who are likely to get lost are people who ignore hiking roads for the purpose of collecting mushrooms and wild plants.

There are some ancient ice holes in jukai.
The Narusawa ice hole which I visited that day is a natural cave that was created about 1,000 years ago and you can experience the world of ice with an average annual temperature of 3 degrees.
If you will visit at Jukai for hiking, you can cool down your body that burned for the running at this ice hole.

Also,
On Kouyoudai, you may be able to see the magnificent view of Mt.Fuji that is colored with autumn leaves. (If you visit in early November. )

Private Hiking Tour | Mount Momokura where the view of Mt.Fuji is beautiful

If you are looking for a hiking trail that allows you to look at the beautiful Mount Fuji, I definitely recommend this course.
The view of Mt.Momokura’s view of Mt.Fuji is wonderful, and it was selected as “Beautiful Mt.Fuji 12 scenery” in 1992 from Otsuki city.
You can enjoy an excellent view from the summit if the weather is nice.
Also, you can experience hiking that you can not experience elsewhere on this hiking course, such as ‘Saruhashi Bridge’ with a strange structure at the foot of the mountain and ‘Yutando Sapa’ in secret.

A Secret Hiking Course to Momokura

Sasago River | If the season is autumn you can enjoy beautiful Japanese autumn leaves.
Sasago River | If the season is autumn you can enjoy beautiful Japanese autumn leaves.

On this private hiking tour I will show you the trailhead on Fukusenji Tenple side.
This course is a relatively minor course and is a very quiet and beautiful trail.
You can go down a rural Japanese country village and enjoy the spectacular view of Mt.Iwadono next door.
The view from the top of the mountain is wonderful, and if the weather is good it will be a wonderful lunch time while watching Mt. Fuji.

Down hill you descend a steep slope at a stretch, so hiking shoes are essential.
If you are a traveler and you do not have hiking shoes, I recommend you rent outdoor goods rental agency.

The summit of Mt. Momokura is a wide open space and you can spread a seat and take a lunch break for a while.

The scenery of the mysterious bridge over the beautiful valley is known for being famous for its famous Ukiyo-e artists.

Also, if you want to relax in the hot springs, we recommend “Yutando Hot Spa”.
It is a mysterious hot spring located in the valley downstream of the Kazuno River, but it will only be open for weekend but you can spend a pleasant time with the owner’s grandmother in an old Japanese private house.

A mysterious castle in the suicide forest ( 2018.11.03 )

When I went to Fuji’s Jukai on November 2, 2018, I found a stone wall like a castle wall in the forest of Jukai.

It seems to be the ruins of Motosu castle in the Kai era of the warring States era (1532 – 1555) later examined.
The country of Kai is the area of Yamanashi prefecture now, Motosu close to the border of the country of Kau Kai at that time Nakamichi Highway, there was a road Nakamichi, it seems there was a main castle as a key point to protected it.
I feel romance when thinking about a castle ruin which is about 400 years old or more.

I got lost in the japanese low mountain named Mt.Iwatono. ( 2018.11.10 )

About Mt.Iwatono

Mt. Iwasaki is a low mountain with an altitude of 563m at the prefectural border of Yamanashi and Tokyo area.
I think that there are probably no people who get lost in such a low mountain, but I write down on this blog in the sense of reflection on myself.
This mountain was a mountain where I was interested for a long time, because when I headed from the Chuo Line to the Kawaguchiko area by train, the mountain rocks were always conspicuous.

Mt.Iwatono seen from the center line
Mt.Iwatono seen from the center line

At the summit of Mt.Iwadono during the Warring States period there was a castle of Mr. Oyamada, which seems to be an important castle related to Mr. Takeda’s destruction.
Certainly cliff walls are quite overlooked and I think that this steep cliff plays the role of a natural castle wall, so that it worked well when it was attacked by enemies.

登山道から顔を出す富士山

About Autumn Leaves

It was November 10, 2018 that I visited.
It will be the peak of the autumn leaves in middle of next week. They will be turning red and yellow.
Perhaps because the temperature drops around the water field, the area of Katsura river has already reached the peak of the autumn leaves.

Road closure due to collapse of the trail, and the detour route thereby

Arriving at JR Otsuki station, I was listening to the information on the trail at the tourist information office in front of the station, so the information that the east route is blocked was obtained in advance.
On this day I began climbing from Asari.
After that we went down the east course from the summit of Mt.Iwatono and when we arrived at Nigioka town we planned to go to Mt.Momokura next door.
But I quickly changed this schedule for the detour.

Detailed information was also listed on the website of Otsuki Tourist Association below.
http://otsuki-kanko.info/blog/view/28054

How I got lost in a Japanese mountain

On this day I started climbing from the Asari direction opposite to the usual route, it seems that I mistook a trail at a branch heading from Mt.Tenjin from a cliff called Chigo-otoshi.
As a result I seem to have entered the wrong trail for Okuyama.
I was in Sasazuka if I noticed, I was on the way to Tozura Pass, Mt. Takanomaru.
Apparently I was fascinated the view from Chigo-otoshi and overlooked the signboard.
As a result, I went out to the paved road of the Tozura Pass, descended on the paved road as it was, visited the original plan Saruhashi bridge and went home.

Refrections

This time, I was got lost in the morning, and although it was a regular climbing trail so it was not particularly dangerous.
But since I started hiking it is actually the second time for me to get lost.
I got lost in another mountain before, and I was very dangerous then.
The following is the tweet at that time.

Since that time I took a “map reading classroom” and received a hands-on lesson with compass and 25000 maps.
Nonetheless yesterday I was fascinated to see the scenery from the top of the cliff called a Chiogo-otoshi, and as a result I neglected to check the current position and the direction of travel.

見とれてしまった稚児落としからの景色
I was fascinated by the view from the Chigo-otoshi.

From now on I will pay attention to the following 3 points and I will be careful not to get lost after that.

  1. I will check the branch on the map beforehand and check my current location and direction of travel.
  2. If I do not understand my current location, I will go back to where I can see it.
  3. Be sure to activate the GPS application before entering the trail.

In the first place I would not get lost if I had just launched the GPS application, I wrote this blog in reflection.

Perhaps I do not think there is such a foolish person like me, but independent hiking is more likely to get lost compared to the group.
If you like hiking alone, please take care.

I will introduce my recently discovered favorite natural mushroom specialty store.

This shop is a specialty shop of natural mushrooms, unusual mushrooms that are not available at supermarkets are sold side by side at the shop front. I also examined it later, it seems to be introduced on TV many times so far.

When I stop by at the foot of Mt.Fuji from now on, I definitely want to visit this shop again.

The following is a recipe of natural mushroom soup that I was taught by a clerk of “San-raku” of a mushroom specialty shop.

Natural mushroom
Natural mushroom
  1. Please immerse in thin salt water for 20 minutes, this is to remove insects just in case. Wipe each mushroom with a damp cloth or with kitchen paper towel and only do this as need to remove dirt and debris.
  2. Gently rinse the saltwater with tap water to remove dirt.
  3. Cut the mushrooms and put it in a boiling pot and boil for a while.
  4. When the pot boils, ash will appear and carefully remove it.
  5. Seasoning is okay with your preference, I seasoned with miso or soy sauce because I am Japanese.
Since natural mushrooms get good soup stock, adding other seasonings and seasonings is unnecessary.
Please enjoy the grace of nature.
